Topplebot.com is a website where you can submit links with an associated title, and then the community can vote on its popularity. If a post is popular, it will eventually make the sites top 50. The goal of topplebot is to converge onto the 50 best links on the web, whatever it may be (unless its illegal).
2. You can contact us at rahtecs@yahoo.com. If its a reasonable message you will get a reasonable reply. If its an unnecessary message it will be unnecessary to reply.
3. Look it, you can vote just like reddit and digg, but that's it. I mean, come on, you can submit anything you want as long as it is legal! And the user has almost %100 policing control. We at topplebot don't delete posts and ban people. It's the community that deletes posts and bans people.
4. Arghhhhhhhh!!!!!!! Because we aren't reddit and $#$@!#$$!@$@! digg!!!! Our goal is simply to find the top 50 webpages voted by you!!! We don't care if its news, pudding recipes, or cricket scores!!!!! So we don't need any freakin' categories! JEEZ.
5. BECAUSE WE AREN'T FREAKIN' REDDIT AND...Oh, I mean, our staff is currently brainstorming- trying to actually figure out what a topplebot is. When we figure that out, we will attempt to draw one. Hey! Actually, if you have an idea, submit it to us at rahtecs@yahoo.com. Good question.6. If you did not register, then we could not control how many votes you casted. Then you could vote any random thing up forever.7. This is to prevent someone from making a hundred accounts, then banning everyone simultaneously. Of course, even now someone could do this. However, they would have to spend at least four days doing this and vote 5000 times and do 100 CAPTCHAS and type in 100 user names. We believe that is enough wasted time a person has to go through before they can be a jerk.8. Again, this is to prevent spamming.9. On the farthest right hand column, below the login, there is a form with two text boxes. One is named "title", the other is named "link". Copy a URL from the explorer bar (control+C) then paste it into the "link" text box (control+V). Add whatever title you feel appropriate for you link in the "title" text box.10. There will be a case where an individual may try to artificially vote something up. The delete counter is another check and balance within the community to ensure the content that is at the top is what the community feels should be in the top. Also, it makes it easier to flag inappropriate links and delete them swiftly11. This is a serious matter that we considered deeply here at topplebot. First, note that you can never delete another user's comment, you can only censor it. The underlying logic behind our disposition can best be expressed as an analogy. Take a presidential election. People vote for a candidate, and through this system a "best" candidate is determined. This is analogous to the "best" posts that make the top 50. In essence, the goal of the top 50 is to be a representation of what the community thinks are the best links. Now take the news channels that cover the presidential elections. These outlets express "professional opinions" on the presidential election. For better, or for worse, these opinions cannot not be suppressed by a vote of the population. Freedom of speech, no matter how ill, has to be said to broaden our views and make a clearer choice. Voting down comments is like voting down fox news or NPR (even though some would find voting one or the other away quite satisfying). No, we have no right to suppress someones opinions, but we do have the right to censor them. The "delete" button next to the posts don't delete the posts, they censor the post. At 5 deletes the post is fully blackened out. Though it is blackened out, a user can still see the post by highlighting it. The user then can choose to either continue further censoring the post, or they can even uncensor it if they find it was unnecessary. This system ensures that all posts are viewed equally, but censored if necessary. Also, if a post is given a large number of delete votes, then the community will see this and potentially ban the user
